Round Count

This is a little deceptive.  Most of the stages offer options for which gun to use on different targets.  The round counts listed represent the maximum number of shots needed to shoot all targets available for this stage.  For example if a stage had 10 total targets, 4 you had to shoot with the shotgun and 6 you could shoot with pistol or rifle, the count would read 4 SG, and 12 (2 hits ea) rifle and 12 pistol.  Hopefully you won’t go through that many rounds but better to be prepared.  Stages and rules are posted on the website at http://starlight3gun.com

Pistol 182, Rifle 159, Shotgun 112 and Pistol Caliber Carbine (provided with ammo) 52.

There are only 2 shots at 200 and 2 at 100.  The rest will be inside of 100 yards.  The targets past 100 yards as well as many others will be lit.  I don’t want people to have to go out and buy an aircraft landing light to shoot the match.  You won’t need slings for either long gun and the plan is to have a location you can stage your handgun on each stage in case you don’t have a holster.  No guarantees that it will be in the best possible location, but we will do our best during setup to make this as neutral as possible.

Schedule

There will be some activities going on during the match and before.  Starting at 4:00 PM on Thursday and Friday we will be running a WWII themed side match on the range courtesy of Inland Machine (https://www.inland-mfg.com/index.html) We’ll be using four of their firearms, a suppressed .22 pistol, .45 1911A1, M1 Carbine and M37 Trench gun.  The side match will be open to competitors and spectators alike.  There will be a small fee for each run with the money going to a good cause.  Fastest overall will win a firearm, as well as a randomly drawn participant.  Everyone who shoots has a chance to win.

We’ll start serving dinner around 5:45 PM.  The actual start time for shooting is still a little flexible.  We start shooting when it’s dark enough.  If the skies are clear this might be a bit later, if cloudy a bit earlier.  I want everyone on their stages ready to go by 7:00 PM each night.  I expect to be done by midnight or earlier each night.  We will shoot 4 stages Friday night and 3 stages Saturday.  As soon as we know the scores we’ll have a shootoff with the top 8 competitors.  The winner of that shootoff will win $5000.00 courtesy of Sig Sauer.  The guns used in the shootoff will be available on Saturday afternoon starting at 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.  Competitors and Spectators will have a chance to test fire them during this time.

Following the Shootoff on Saturday will be the awards ceremony where the high overall shooter and high lady will receive their first place prizes of $15,000.00 courtesy of Timney Triggers.  Everyone else will have the opportunity to walk the prize table in order of finish.
